How to get to the SFB642
1. By train
Taxi: Arrived at Bochum main station (Bochum Hbf) one can take (not necessarily, see b) a taxi. You should be brought to Ruhr-Universitaet on N-Nordstrasse. N-Nordstrasse is closed by gate, but one can contact the gatekeeper for opening (use the button). The building ND is now the first high-rise building on the left hand side. Using the main entrance one can find the elevators on the left hand side (ND north). The way to the Chair of Biophysics is described in topic 4b.
Subway: It is also convenient and easy to take the subway (line U35, direction "Hustadt/Ruhr-Universitaet") to the university. An “A” ticked is needed (single way costs 2 €, must be devaluated before entering the subway). The ride takes about 10 minutes to the stop "Ruhr-Universitaet". In the daytime, the subway runs every 5 minutes. The way from the stop "Ruhr-Universitaet" to the Chair of Biophysics is described in topic 4a.
2. By plane
From Airport Duesseldorf one takes the SkyTrain to the railway station "Duesseldorf Flughafen". There one takes the "Regional-Express (RE)" or the "S-Bahn" (line S1) to Bochum main station (Bochum Hbf). Note: The train ticket has to be cancelled before entering the departure platform. The ride takes about one hour and an "C" ticked is needed (single way costs 8,25 € and is vaild to the University).

3. By car
Heading the A43 south from Muenster to Wuppertal one leaves the autobahn at the junction "Bochum Querenburg / Ruhr-Universitaet". Turning on the "Universitaetsstraße" towards Ruhr-Universität one leaves the street at the junction "Universitaet-Ost/Botanischer Garten/Fachhochschule" (see details on site plan and dashed violet line). There one has to take the right lane towards "Fachhochschule / Botanischer Garten", and following the sign "Botanischer Garten". The building ND is now the first green high-rise building on the left hand side. N-Nordstrasse is closed by gate, but one can contact the gatekeeper for opening (use the button). If there are no parking spaces left in front of the building, one should find one on the left hand side of Osttrasse.

4. Campus footpath:
4a)
Leaving the platform (stop "Ruhr-Universitaet") one turns right and crosses the footbridge. Keeping left and across campus (see details on site plan and dashed green line). One follows the "N-Nordstraße" towards the building ND (the last building of four green buildings). The main entrance ("Haupteingang") is located on the right hand side of the building ND.
4b)
Chair of Biophysics: After passing the main entrance please keep left to the elevators. Takes the elevator to the floor 04 and turns rigt to the door 3. One follows the direction signs to "Biophysik" and comes to the office in room ND 04/596. If the entry to the Chair is closed, one has to use the phone at the door and call No. 24461.
